aaime [n=aaime@87.11.55.223] entered the room.
simboss: I thinjk so
simboss: jdeolive
jdeolive: hi simboss
simboss: ciao justin
jdeolive: cool, ping aaime , jgarnett , dwinslow , desruisseaux , vheurteaux
aaime: Hi
dwinslow: hi
jdeolive: anyone have any agenda items?
vheurteaux: hi
desruisseaux: No agenda item on my side
jdeolive: jgarnett?
***jdeolive thinks this might turn out to be a short meeting
desruisseaux: I have topic for some future IRC (module renaming, svn cleanup...), but it is for an undetermined future since I'm not yet free for those tasks...
jgarnett: hello
jgarnett: back now
jdeolive: hi jody
jdeolive: do you have any agenda items?
jgarnett: thinking
jgarnett: Eclesia cannot make it today
jgarnett: was asking about the process proposal
jgarnett: I think he has enough to start on; some WPS work may revise the interfaces he defines later
jgarnett: but that can be later.
jgarnett: So if he actually puts it to the vote (say via email) then I am pretty happy with it.
jgarnett: ArcSDE build hell and otherwise?
jgarnett: is garbriel and/or saul around for an update?
jgarnett: apparently not ... so I agree this will be a short meeting.
jgarnett: So lets just do the 0) what is up ... 1) svn cut off
jgarnett has changed the topic to: 0) what is up 1) svn cutoff warning
jgarnett: 0) what is up
desruisseaux: Only topic I could bring is that Andrea reported a failure in Resample2D. The fault is a change that I did recently (hunting for an IndexOutBoundException in MlibWarpPolynomialOpImage.computeTile) and will try to bring Resampler2D back to its previous state (or close to it) toonight.
acuster [n=chatzill@pro75-1-82-67-202-232.fbx.proxad.net] entered the room.
jgarnett: cool
jgarnett: jgarnett - arcsde single connection mode experiment; will end today one way or another.
jgarnett: anyone else doing anything ...
jgarnett: ... cool library must be done then.
jgarnett: 1) svn cut off
jgarnett: There is about two weeks before svn access will be turned off; so send your GeoTools contributor agreements in.
desruisseaux: Thanks for sending the emails Jody
jgarnett: (of if you have some kind exception situtation talk to a PMC member)
cliff [n=chatzill@216.16.230.194] entered the room.
acuster: jgarnett: what does it mean that a few people cannot legally sign the doc?
***acuster thought we had structured the doc for those people as well
cliff left the room.
jgarnett: see the wiki page
jgarnett: at least one of the
is for us gov. works which are public domain
jgarnett: we are welcome to do anything with those contributions etc...
acuster: yeah, but they should read the doc
acuster: it should work for them as well
jgarnett: okay we should ask them to do that; let me find the indivudual
jgarnett: Bryce Nordgen; and his employeer (US Forest Service) got back to me saying they cannot legally sign the document.
jgarnett: (ie a red x )
jgarnett: Do you have Mr. Nordgen's contact information?
acuster: yeah, when I get back to work I'll contact him
jgarnett: um...
acuster: he seems to be the only one\
jgarnett has changed the topic to: 0) what is up 1) svn cutoff warning 2) SoC
jgarnett: so when the end of the month comes; we will go over the svn access list
jgarnett: and comment out peoples names?
jgarnett: 2) SoC
jgarnett: simboss do you have some words for us about our hopeful SoC experience?
simboss: well besides creating the page
simboss: I have not done much so far
simboss: too busy
simboss:
jgarnett: I updated the timeline
jgarnett: Currently the "Proposed Ideas
simboss: thx about that
jgarnett: is all about last years projects....
jgarnett: ... so we need help; as far as I know students are going to be looking at this today.
jgarnett: (ie today was the deadline)
jgarnett: http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/Summer+of+Code+2008
simboss: what do you mean by
jgarnett: oh wait we get to find out now if osgeo was accepted; and start talking to students today....
simboss: proposed ideas are all about last year's project?
jgarnett: correct; those are all links to the projects we accepted last year are they not?
simboss: nope
jgarnett: (also on the #osgeo channel; osgeo is accepted)
simboss: those are ideas I just dropped there
simboss: (yeah I kjnow .-) )
jgarnett: doh; you are right ... I am stupid; I was confused because mentors were listed
jgarnett: (we don't do the mentor thing for a while; stends come up with the ideas after all...)
jgarnett: those are some interesting ideas!
simboss: well, feel free to update the page
simboss: they would be
simboss: the problem is finding people
simboss: it is going to be hard to find someone in western europe
simboss: for the moeny they give
simboss:
simboss: euro is too strong
jgarnett: lol
jgarnett: try for eastern europe then...
jgarnett: (simboss is complaining about being rich? must be nice...)
simboss: I am not rich
simboss: (not yet
)
jgarnett: (I am teasing....)
jgarnett: so everyone has a google id; they are going to add us to the list for osgeo
jgarnett: and then we can start reviewing student applications.
simboss: anyway, you are right we should really target eastern europe
jgarnett: Last time was harder; because the student submissions were in the google site (and not around for us to talk about w/ the community)
jgarnett: does that matter?
simboss: not so sure about it
jgarnett: Thanks for organizing last week simboss; it was needed!
jgarnett: That is probbaly it for the meeting?
simboss: I guess so
acuster: ciao all
vheurteaux: ciao acuster
jgarnett: I will post the logs
