Gradle 0.8 is released

We are very excited to announce the release of Gradle 0.8. This release comes with major new features, like:

  • The unique concept of source sets to fully support different project layouts.
  • Gradle UI Runner
  • Scala Support
  • Checkstyle and Codenarc Support
  • Smart Task Exclusion (exclude all tasks that have only the excluded task as a dependee).
  • Camel case completion for task names.
  • Support for buildNeeded and buildDependent groups in multi-project builds.
  • You can use now an initialization script to configure and change pretty much any aspect of Gradle you like.
  • Writing custom tasks is now easier.
  • New powerful domain objects to work with file collections and file trees.
  • Improved error reporting.
  • Performance improvements
