What is the Codehaus2 tag shown on some pages
This indicates that the page has been updated to reflect the new "Codehaus 2.0" environment.
Why did you get rid of shell access, that's what made Codehaus different
Codehaus is/was growing quite rapidly with large numbers of new unvetted users. It was just a matter of time before someone loaded a 0-day kernel exploit on a machine and compromised it.
Further, offering X different ways of doing the same thing makes support quite difficult - we spend more time doing support for existing features than building out Codehaus into a better development environment.
Removing shell access lets us simplify the environment and change things under the hood without affecting projects that are all configured differently.
How am I going to update files in my project (deploy artifacts etc)
We're currently reviewing the options in this space, however the best solution looks to be by offering HTTPS protected DAV access to your project areas. Currently the URL to edit this is expected to look like https://<project>.codehaus.org/dav/.
How do I get my LDAP credentials
ssh to beaver or do password recovery using Xircles (http://xircles.codehaus.org)
The mailing lists don't let me subscribe
Only Codehaus users can subscribe to mailing lists now. This means that all users must register using Xircles and then subscribe to the lists using the provided interface.
