Welcome to the IzPack Confluence space ![]()
IzPack is a one-stop solution for packaging, distributing and deploying applications.
It is fully cross-platform and generates a single installer. As such, it is an alternative to native solutions such as platform-specific installers and package managers.
Many companies and projects have been using IzPack over the years.
IzPack-generated installers only require a Java virtual machine to run.
IzPack is published under the terms of the Apache License, Version 2.0, meaning that you can adapt it to your needs with very minimal constraints.
News
Thanks to the Gource, I have been able to generate a video of the IzPack commits history.
Please note that IzPack actually started in 2001, but we started using CVS only back in 2002.
Enjoy the movie ![]()
On behalf of the IzPack project development team, I am pleased to announce the immediate availability of IzPack 4.3.3 which can be downloaded from our official website at http://izpack.org/.
This ia a stable, maintenance release that fixes some issues found in IzPack 4.3.1 and IzPack 4.3.2. As such, we highly recommend that our users promptly migrate to this version from production-quality installers.
7 issues were fixed in this release. See http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/IZPACK/fixforversion/15986 for a complete list and more details.
Should you encounter issues in IzPack 4.3.3, please go to http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/IZPACK to look for similar issues, and eventually report a new problem.

Andreas Nerlich just published an article called using izpack2exe from an unpacked maven dependency.
I'm sure it will provide some useful informations for those relying on a Maven build process that integrates IzPack installer generation.
Thanks Andreas ![]()
I will give a talk at fOSSa, a free conference that will be held on November 17th-18th in Grenoble, France
