To search artifacts and to add dependencies from indexed Maven repositories (including Central and local Maven repository) you can use "Maven / Add Dependency..." popup menu on Maven-enabled project or pom.xml in the Package Explorer or Navigator views. There is also "Open Maven POM..." and "Open Type from Maven..." dialogs available in the main Navigate menu. The latter option is also available as a quick fix that allow to resolve missing dependency based on class name.
You can type search term and select required dependency from the list grouped by the artifactId. You can expand group and select specific artifact version from the child nodes. Dependencies already present in the current pom.xml shown in a blue color. Also note icon decoration showing if sources are present for given artifact version.
