Currently employed as a software engineer working with the space laboratory Columbus, which will be the core European contribution to the International Space Station.

Columbus is a pressurised laboratory eight metres long and four and a half metres in diameter. Three astronaut-researchers will be able to carry out a number of experiments, covering materials, medicine, pharmaceuticals, human physiology, biology, Earth observation, fluid physics and astronomy.
