Lets assume a project committer wants to check out a Subversion repository. Assuming the repository has been laid out according to the recommendations in How to Organize a Subversion Repository, the following command would check out the main trunk of project1 located in the FOO repository using the WebDAV access method:

No Format
svn co https://svn.codehaus.org/FOO/project1/trunk

If you wanted to check out a specific branch of project1, the following command could be used:

No Format
svn co https://svn.codehaus.org/FOO/project1/branches/somebranch

It is important to note that when using WebDAV to access the repository that you must use the HTTPS protocol and connect to svn.codehaus.org. Typically, we tend to provide services to hosts using svn.FOO.codehaus.org, but due to the expense of obtaining SSL certificates for all projects, SSL service is only available at svn.codehaus.org.

Furthermore, in order to check your changes into the repository, you will have to set your shell account password on beaver.codehaus.org. By default, your password is disabled. To change your password, you must request shell access and then you can login and run the passwd command.
