1. Create Java project from existing sources
2. Browse to folder where you checked out source
3. Select to have IntelliJ IDEA create a source directory or else it won't correctly detect facets
4. Click next on the Libraries screen
5. Make sure your project folder shows up in the Modules screen and click next
6. You should see the Grails and Spring facets in the final screen. Click finish
