In order to do global configuration, it is necessary to have a global administrator role (See Security).

Customization

Home page / Component Service

To customize the Home page for your Sonar instance : simply press "Configure ON" to access customization. You are then presented with the configuration page on which you can customize 5 things :

Add, remove and move columns in the table
Select the column that will be sorted by default
Select whether you want to see the treemap on the home page
Select what are the default metric to use in the treemap (Press Set as Default)

TimeMachine

When in TimeMachine, you can customize the metrics used by default in the chart : select the ones you want and press Set as Default.

Events Categories

To manage (add, remove, update) categories of events go to configuration and then Events Category.
Two categories of events exist in the system that cannot be either updated or deleted: Alert and Version.

Manual metrics

To manage (add, remove, update) manual metrics, go to configuration and then Manual Metrics.

Backup / Restore

The whole Sonar configuration can be backed up and restored. This includes : Quality profiles (rules + alerts), manual metrics, events categories, global settings section (plugins) and customization.

WARNING

When restoring , it will wipe ALL existing configuration

No information about project configuration gets backed up (exclusions, links, quality profile associated...)

Security

The 4 bottom menus are available to manage security.
