Since version 3.4

This page documents the new Measures service that replaces the Filters service.

Creating Filter

Creating a new filter requires to be logged in and then to go to Configuration > My Filters and click on Add filter:

A creation filter form has then to be filled:

Here's the list of all the available fields:

Field name

Name of the filter.

This option is only available for user with global admin role. Those administrators can share some filters with all Sonar users.

Filter mechanism to display only resources sharing a root path.

Filter mechanism to display only resources having a given type.

When a Path is set, a new checkbox is displayed: Direct children. When ticked, the filter displays only direct children of the resource selected in the Path property.

Filter mechanism to display only resources whose a given measure is greater than or less than a threshold. Up to three criteria can be defined.

Filter mechanism to display only resources from a given language.

Favourites only

Filter mechanism to display only resources whose key matches a given pattern:

  • * to match zero or more characters
  • ? to match any single character

Filter mechanism to display only resources whose name contains a given string.

Build date

Filter mechanism to display only resources according to their last build date.

Once a filter has been defined, two actions are available:

  • Save & Preview: to save the current filter, stay in the edit mode, customize the display and start seeing the filter results.
  • Save & Close: to save the current filter and go back to the My Filter page.
  • Cancel: to cancel any change and go back to the My Filter page.

Displaying Filter

Filters are displayed on dashboards in the dedicated widget Filter.

Differential Filter

Provide a way to view the changes that occurred on measures during a pre-defined period. See Differential Views for more information.

To activate this service, pick the desired period in the drop down list Time changes... on the top of the page (only available for project dashboards).

This is done by choosing whether to add value or change when adding a column:

The default period can be configured:

Limitation on variations

Note that variations cannot be displayed at file level (as all previous data are purged at file level during an analysis).

By default, data are also purged at package/module level. Thus variations cannot be displayed at this level by default. To change this behavior, log in as an administrator, go to Configuration > Database Cleaner and set the Clean history data of directories/packages property to true

Managing Filters

Once several filters have been created, it becomes necessary to delete or edit some of them.

These features are available by going to Configuration > My Filters:

  • No labels
