Source code can be checked before pushing it back to the SCM: either directly in Eclipse or through a batch with the Issues Report plugin. Both let you make sure that you are not introducing new quality issues.

The SonarQube Eclipse Plugin provides a comprehensive integration of SonarQube in Eclipse for Java, C/C++ and Python projects. The objective of this integration is that developers don't have to leave their favorite IDE anymore to manage the quality of their source code.

After you have installed and configured SonarQube in Eclipse, you will be able to browse SonarQube information in Eclipse. It provides support for the two following main use cases:

  1. Manage existing issues
  2. Check code prior to commit
