The focus of the Milyn Project is on building components that enable browser-aware content filtering - both in and out-of container (Servlet).

problem domains

These components can be used to help solve the following types of problem:

1. Website Browser Incompatibility Reporting: Smooks can be run out-of-container (Standalone) to produce a website (content) conpatibility report. See Smooks Report Generator. See http://www.quirksmode.org/
2. Website Browser Incompatibility Resolution: Smooks can be run as a Servlet Filter to manipulate content in order to workaround/resolve known issues with the requesting browser and how it supports specific types of standard markup and style (CSS). See http://www.quirksmode.org/
3. Website Mobility: Smooks can be run as a Servlet Filter to manipulate/transform content in order to optimise it for non-desktop browsers i.e. browsers on mobile devices.
